After the first excitement of setting up my list of countries, I've been looking for an app today that would display all the countries I've visited so far on a map. I am very visual and find it appealing to stare at a world map pondering where the next destination will be and how many I indeed have already checked off. So I found two apps: Polarsteps and Been.
Been is really only illustrating where you have been in the world by coloring the countries and showing you which percentage and how many countries of each continent you have already visited.
Polarsteps on the other hand, provides you with a multitude of options to track your personal travel, add photos, share, like and chat with fellow work travelers. I love the feature that analyzes your phots and creates the list of trips automatically for you. All you have to do is add photos and specific locations to it. Check out their website at https://www.polarsteps.com.
The shocking reality is that the Been app dramatically showed me that I have been completely neglecting South America, Antartica and Africa. These continents are untouched and not colored on my personal map. So, I reworked my list for the next year off my newly created baseline. I have decided to focus on South America first, as I have been to a couple of countries in Africa, but none in South America. I guess, Africa will have to wait a bit.
Here is my revised list:
July-September 2020
1. Colorado, USA
2. Scotland
3. Iceland
October-December 2020
4. Israel
5. Jordan
6. Oman
January-March 2021
7. Arizona, USA
8. Peru
9. Chile
April-June 2021
