Sometimes you just have to throw away an idea and plan something new

It dawned to me, in the middle of all my travel planning, that I had somehow forgotten our 25th wedding anniversary. Oops! I wanted to have the kids with us for this day and needed to find something to make it work. With one daughter in Europe traveling, I knew the best thing would be to find her wherever she was for that day, pull her out of her travel group for a dinner and enjoy the celebrations. As it happens she is in Greece that week. I started to search for something truly special, not the typical instagram shots kind of location (e.g. cave pool hotel suites and such) and finally came up with an idea I know everyone will love.

I have been in contact with a wonderful gentlemen, Stelios Zacharakis of Luxury Catamarans (www.Luxurycatamarans.com), and he helped me organize the sailing trip I was looking for. We found a fantastic vessel, which will give us enough space, loads of water play and sport, fantastic food and mostly, the opportunity to see many of the greek islands which we haven't visited yet. And I even have the opportunity to "give my daughter a lift" from Mykonos to Santorini together with her friends. How excited they are!!! That's a nice benefit for your college-bound child on a budget :)

So, instead of looking for something random or organizing a party at home, these spontaneous decisions are sometimes the very best. I am soooo excited and looking forward to family time on the beautiful waters of the Aegean Sea.
